Gender Netural Parenting

Your male child who likes cars, planes motorcycles and likes the color blue would you allow him to wear a pink tu-tu and paint his nails in sparkly colors? Just because a little boy picks up a Barbie doll doesn’t mean he’s going to be gay. Just because he has an easy bake oven or a kitchen doesn’t mean he’s going to be gay. Teaching him how not to be aggressive I’m sure you can find other ways to do this. It brings on another issue of when this child goes to school he’s going to be bullied and have no friends. Schools are so strict over haircuts so imagine what they would do if one day he wore pants and the next a dress. If you do home schooling you are alienating him from interacting with other children.

Me personally when I was little I was the biggest tom-boy in the world. Every neighborhood we moved to the only people who were my age were little boys. I wore the dark colors, I played foot-ball, and climbed tree-houses. Even my girly side was still tomboyish. I loved my Barbie dolls, the corvette, the dream house, swimming pool, my little ponies, Ken and the Michael Jackson doll but at the end of the day security was GI Joe figures. I remember crying on the first day of school and said I don’t ever want to wear a dress again to school and from that point on it was always skirts or pants.

My parents never said choose between the two sides. They never said no you can’t play with the boys. The only thing that I had to learn how to do was how to be friends with a female.

What are your thoughts?

One Big Happy Family

When the relationship is completely over there are a lot of things that you should be able to do.  Meet up someplace and have dinner to discuss schedule changes for school or summer vacations.  We should all be able to sit down like civil adults and discuss the most important thing in our lives, the children.

This isn’t for the typical couple and just might be a celebrity thing because somewhere overseas might be pushing it, as far as expenses.  There’s still amusement parks, sporting trips and other things that can be done without the bickering, arguing and showing your child how immature it is not to get along with the new person in their life.

The kids should be used to be being together anyway and have that type of relationship so why not have his or her mother or father coming along.

18 year old girl who sue’s her parents

I remember living in the world where my mom said if you live in my house you go by my rules.  If you even said something about calling 911 and the response was you have to make it to the phone first.  There was no I-Phones, I-Pads, internet, apps or anything like that.  You woke up on Sat mornings and watched cartoons like He-Man, Care Bears, or Smurfs, You knew that when the light went off in the streets if you were late getting home you were in trouble.  When you were on punishment you were on punishment and that meant no playing outside, no going to your friend’s house or no talking on the phone.  When they said no playing outside your whole world felt like it was about to end.

We aren’t going to even go into what it was like if your parent’s didn’t like some boy you were dating.    Parents paying for your college.  Those prices are so much that it’s nearly impossible to pay everything.

I haven’t heard any new updates on the case but it’s going to be interesting to see what is going to happen.  It seems like you can sue people for anything these things.

Christians Schools and The Handbook

There was a controversy going on a few weeks ago about a black female who attended a Christian school and they wanted her to cut her hair and it was something that was in the hand-book. While, I thought she should be able to wear her hair anyway she wanted to, it’s a Christian school and they have strict rules. If it’s in the hand-book that’s something that you are just going to have to put up with because chances are you had to sign something that said you obey to all the rules.

I went to a Christian school so know the rules and I know about that hand-book that they always talk about. While I never had any hair controversy there were other things that were in the hand-book, which I didn’t read.

If a male, teacher or principal entered the room, you had to stand up because that was a sign of respect. Now, I’m looking around the room like why is everybody standing, and I just stood up and my teacher brought up read the hand-book and you will be tested on it tomorrow.. Then I noticed when a female teacher entered the room nobody stood up and I’m standing up and someone say’s we only have to do that for a male. I just thought that was the weirdest things. Once again somebody said just read your handbook.

We had a strict dress code. I was so excited because I was at a Catholic School for nine years and we had uniforms. I’m turning to the page in the handbook about dress code. On Thursday we went to chapel (church) and the boys had to wear a suite and a tie and the women had to wear a skirt. Now if they had a problem with knowing if the skirt was long enough, they would make you kneel to the floor and if it didn’t touch then you were going to detention with a dress code violation. We could wear every shade of jeans except for blue. Which I’m thinking what’s the deal? every shade but not blue. When you wear blue jeans it makes you act different. By this time I’m like mom, I want to go back to uniforms. Everybody looked the same and you were always going to be in code. All these rules it’s making me go slightly crazy. I mean I remember when they would pick a theme and we would have to dress up lite it. Well the theme was beach day. No swimsuits of any kind, no tank tops, no flip-flops,, no big hats, the list went on to the point I’m sitting there like what are we suppose to wear.

If they found out you were having sex you would get kicked out. No sex before marriage. The thing that made me really mad is when I found out the female would get kicked out but they male would get to stay. My question was did she do it by herself? Another one of those handbook rules.

Bible was the most important class so if you failed bible that meant you didn’t go on to the next grade and you couldn’t even walk at graduation. There are more rules that I can think of but the thing is If it’s in the handbook you’re not going to be able to get out of it. So either get suspended, accept it or leave the school.
